Obituary of Michelle Lewis

Ronald Edward Hardy (affectionately known as Ronnie) was the third child of six, born February 17, 1955 to late James and Clara Hardy in Asbury Park NJ.  within a year the family relocated to Newark, NJ.  Ronnie attended Waverly Avenue Elementary School, West Kinney Jr. High School and graduated from West Side High School.

Ronnie had great artistic abilities and talents.  Art was his favorite, he enjoyed drawing and painting.  He was excepted in Arts High School for different programs they offered.  Ronnie also had a love for music and for working on cars.

Ronnie at an early age attended along with his family First Zion Hill Baptist Church, in Newark NJ, where he was baptized.  He also sung along side his sibling in the Youth Choir.

In His early twenties Ronnie became a father for the first time to Daryl Norman born November 25, 1975.

He was employed By Martland Hospital. He also worked for Pinkerton Security. He was briefly employed at Christian Pentecostal Church of Christ as a handyman. He could always be counted on to repair whatever he put his hands on.

Ronnie met his best friend and love of his life Debra William in 1987, and they became one in marriage on March 30,1991.  Their union produced a loving son Daron Edward Hardy.  

Ronnie became ill within the last few years. through the struggles of watching her husband deal with his illness His loving wife faithfully stood by his side until the end.

Ronnie was predeceased in death by his father James Hardy, his grandparents McKinley and  Carrie Young. 

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Debra Hardy, his sons Daryl Norman and Daron Hardy, his mother Clara Hardy, his brothers Stanley Hardy (Roberta), Garrett Hardy (Marrianne), his sisters Darlene Reid, Janice Hardy and Joy Lee (Cliff), bro-in-law James William, sis-in-law Jannie William, uncle William Young and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
