Alice Faye Smith was born on February 17, 1959 at Margaret Hague Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Elder Vermie Dell Smith Sr. and Viola Bernice (Eggleston) Smith. Alice was the youngest of five children, she was 64 years old. Alice never married and never had any children.
Alice attended the public school system in Hoboken and Jersey City, NJ. As a young child she attended Soul Saving C.O.G.I.C. under the late Elder Mell Lawrence located on Monticello Avenue. Alice later served under her father the late Elder Vermie Dell Smith at Starlight C.O.G.I.C.
Alice worked for a short time with her sister Patricia Heath at True Photo which was located on Garfield Avenue. Alice also worked alongside her sister Doris McQuarters at Grand Street cleaners which was owned by her Father.
Alice was an excellent dancer. She had a great Love for music. When an album was released, you would see it in her vast collection of albums which she still has to this day. Alice had a great eye when putting her attire together. She was well put together, A True Fashionista!! She also was gifted when it came to braiding and styling hair. She was a true perfectionist with styles.
Alice also maintained a large collection of movies which she enjoyed watching while sitting in her cozy chair. Alice was quiet but she was very strong minded, when she made up her mind there was no changing it. Alice will be truly missed by all who loved her.
Alice Faye Smith was preceded in death by her father the late Elder Vermie Dell Smith Sr. and mother Viola Bernice Smith, older brother Elder Vermie Dell Smith Jr., her eldest sister Arlene Bernice Wheeler. Alice leaves to cherish her memory her sisters Patricia Heath and Doris Smith McQuarters. Her nieces and nephews, Ennis (FuFu) Wheeler (Avon), Denise Wheeler, Aaron Smith, Troy Smith, Latoya Heath (Kenrick), Nakia Smith, Kendell Wheeler (Trenecia), Edward McQuarters Sr. (Tekarra), Lakeema McQuarters, Brittney Wheeler, Joshua Smith, Lawrence Pressley and a host of Uncles, Aunts, great nephews, nieces, cousins, extended Family and Friends.
