**In Memory Alonzo Lopez Williams**

Alonzo Lopez Williams, affectionately known as “Zo” or “LB,” was born on April 25, 1980, to the late Frankie-Jean Kates and Prentice Coleman. Following the passing of his father, Arnold Lee (Serge) Williams, Alonzo relocated to Potter’s Crossing in Edison, NJ in 1993, where he was nurtured by his aunt Alfreida Kates. He began his education in Goldsboro Public Schools, eventually graduating from JP Stevens High School in 1998. He continued his educational journey at Drake College of Business in Elizabeth, where he studied to become a medical assistant.

Alonzo's vibrant personality shone brightly through his sense of humor and kindness. A talented comedian with a beautiful smile and infectious laugh, he was a source of joy for those around him. Whether sharing corny dad jokes or brightening a shopping trip at Stop and Shop, where he worked for over twenty years, Alonzo had a unique ability to create moments of laughter and connection. He enjoyed cooking, especially perfecting his homemade BBQ sauce, and often teased about his signature dish, believing it could rival anyone's grandmother’s cooking. A skilled barber who served his community, Alonzo also volunteered at the local food pantry alongside the late Deaconess Marie Floyd at Mt. Zion United Freewill Baptist Church.

In his most recent role within the Food Service Team at Roosevelt Care Center, Alonzo continued to embody service and joy. He was a dedicated sneaker enthusiast, always keen to share updates on the latest sneaker releases and display his stylish collection. Above all, his greatest pride came from being a father to his four beloved children: Elijah, Alonzo (Ajay), Jordan, and Zoey.

Alonzo is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Barbara Ann DeVaughn; his grandparents, Mary Sandra (Mickey) and Frank Kates; his mother, Frankie Jean Kates; his fathers, Arnold Lee Williams (Serge) and Prentice Coleman; his great aunt, Freida Devaughn Rainey; his aunt, Alfreida Kates; and his sister-in-love, Kenyatta Jones.

He is survived by the love of his life, Shameka Robinson of Woodbridge, NJ; two sisters: Julia Grant Sanders of Snow Hill, NC, and Tramenda Best of Goldsboro, NC; four brothers: Shihem Coleman, Prentice Best, Jamor Ashford, and Wyatt More of Goldsboro, NC; two brothers-in-love, Marcus and Trimmick Kates of Edison, NJ; and his cherished children, all residing in Lawrenceville, GA. He will also be remembered by his special cousin, Rasheeda Gaillard-Crowley of Edison, NJ, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Alonzo was also deeply grateful for his extended family, including brothers Brett, Darnell, Marvin, Mooka, and his best friend, Tasherra.

Alonzo Lopez Williams leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and community service that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
