On July 18,1926, in Elloree, South Carolina Clarence E. Green, affectionately known as "Skeets" was born to the late Willie Green and Georgia May and of that union he was one of sixteen children. He transitioned peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on April 4, 2024. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age.
He received his formal education in the Elloree public school system, and later continued his education at Hampton University before serving in the United States Army in Europe and the Pacific. Upon returning from the Army and relocating to Newark, New Jersey to start his legacy, Clarence met the love of his life Dorothy Mae Mallard whom he was married to for sixty-six years and they were blessed with ten children.

In 1979, he was involved in the founding of the NUABA, the National Association of Minority Owned Retail Beverage Operations, the Vice Chair of the New Jersey Bar Association, and Chairman of the NUABA Supreme Council. He was the recipient of numerous awards and accommodations during his fifty plus years as a vital part of the Newark Business community.
Clarence was an active member of Saint James A.M.E church where he served in several capacities such as trustee, class leader, member of the men's Bible study, and the manager of Saint James grocery store located in the Saint James towers.
He loved sports such as basketball, football, bowling, and golf, but baseball was his love, and he was an avid fan of the Yankees. Skeet's sense of style was unique and when he stepped into a room his presence was known.
