Cordelia Sneed

October 22, 1938 — July 4, 2017

Celebrating the Life of Cordelia Foster Sneed Cordelia Foster Sneed blessed the union of Arthur and Viola Foster on October 22, 1938 in Spring Hope, Franklin County, NC. The Foster household was lively following the addition of four siblings- Ethel, Robert, Barbara, and Hattie. The family moved to Henderson, NC when Cordelia was 18 years old. It was here during the spring when a young and beautiful Cordelia was noticed by a dapper and dashing young man, Ricardo Sneed. This union was blessed by the joy of their daughter Mychell. This happy little family decided to search for an abundant life in the summer of 1970, moving to Lawnside, NJ. It was there, Cordelia began her long career in the pharmaceutical industry spanning 44 years. One highlight of her career was when Cordelia proudly graduated in 1992, from Rutgers University with a Bachelor degree in Sociology. Cordelia was a proud member of the Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a devoted usher until her illness. The members of the Usher Board and her church family became her second family and loved her like a mother. She served with the Sick and Shut-In Ministry. Cordelia also volunteered as an office secretary. She was a good and faithful steward of the Church since the mid 1990’s. To her beloved grandchildren, Rachel Mychelle and Raevyn Nicole, she was “GramGram” and “Grandma”. Her love of her life besides her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, was her only daughter Mychell. When Cordelia became unable to care for herself, her beloved Mychell insisted she move to Delaware, which she enjoyed being with her daughter and grandchildren. Besides her heartbroken daughter and granddaughters, missing her terribly are her surviving sisters- Barbara Fuller and Hattie Foster, her aunt Daisy Davis. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Patty Foster and Sylvia Handy. Her nieces- Karen, Kathy, Leslie, Tonja, LeAundra, Helaine, Darlene, Yvette, Therletta and nephews- Ralph, Tony, and Dave, and a host of other family and friends will memorialize her memory. Cordelia was predeceased by her husband, Ricardo Sneed; parents, her brother Robert Foster, her sister Ethel Roberson, her nephews, John Earl and Vern, and her dear friend Nancy Hendricks, all who are rejoicing with her today.
