Cynthia Ayodele Williams (August 4, 1930 – August 5, 2020) Cynthia Ayodele Williams, wife of the late Cecil D. (CD) Williams passed away in New Jersey on Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 a day after her birthday. She was 90yrs old. She came to the United State from Freetown, Sierra Leonein West Africa after her husband died in August, 1998, to be with her children and grandchildren. She was a businesswoman who ran a very successful Shell Gas Station Franchise Business in Freetown before retirement. She was also the first female in Sierra Leone to accomplish this thereby opening the door for other women to follow suit. Mom as she is fondly called by most of her grandkids, was loved by all. She attended Freetown Secondary School for Girls and was a staunch church member of Gibraltar Methodist Church in Freetown where she held numerous titles including Vice. President of Gibraltar Women’s Fellowship and President of the Ladies Union. While here in the US, she was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, New York and also a member of the First United Methodist Women Group. She is survived by her children in the US and Canada, Yvonne Onike Jones, Celsie Wole Williams, Cecil Femi Williams, Dalmain Tunji Williams, Dunstan Bani Williams and their spouses, Crimilda Williams, Yasmin Fadlu Deen and Laura Willams; Also John Aki Wright and family. Grand Children – Dalmain and Glynnis; Sheena, Jesse and Cynthia; Alex, Onike, Garvin and Yasmeen; Tungie and Kemi. Great Grand Children – Nayomi and Vivian; Zhamari and Zayda. Sisters – Maggie Lewis and family in England; Onike Smith and family in Freetown and the US; Claudia May-Harding and family in the US; Iyabo Cole and family in Freetown. Brother – Charlie King (deceased); Aki Adams and Family in the US. Cousins , Nieces , Nephews and Godchildren – Tunde King and Family in California, The Jarret Family in North Carolina, The King Family in North Carolina and Maryland; The Morgan family in Freetown and the US; The Benjamin family in New Jersey, Maryland and England. Close Friends – Melrose Boston-Mammah and Family in England, Winifred Deigh and family in England; the Late Bob & Gladys Strasser King Family in the US and Freetown, The McCormacks in California, The Family of the Late Haja Sarieu and a host of dear friends and extended family too many to recount.
