Darlene Thomas, 59, of Somerset New Jersey, entered eternal rest on February 13, 2019 with her loving family by her side. She was born to the late Deacon William Thomas Sr. and the late Mother Lillian Thomas on July 6, 1959 in New Brunswick City, New Jersey. Darlene was raised in Edison, New Jersey (Pottis Crossing) from her childhood to her young adult life. She obtained her G.E.D and began to raise her family in Plainfield, NJ. Soon after she took a leap of faith and moved to Colombia, South Carolina where she answered the call that God placed on her life. She resided in South Carolina for many years but her Faith journey led her back home to New Jersey. In 1997, Darlene received a Sacred Certificate of Completion for Evangelism from Eastern Bible Institute of Newark, New Jersey. Continuing in her bible studies, Darlene received a certificate for General Bible Studies from Eastern Bible Institute of Newark New Jersey in 1998. In addition, she received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science Management from Middlesex County College of Edison, New Jersey in 2005. Furthermore, she obtained her license as a Certified Public Accountant. Darlene built a lasting career as a Payroll Tax Accountant and Analyst working for various companies such as ADP, The NFL, Johnson & Johnson, CBS Corporation, Novartis Inc., and Catalent Pharma which was her present employer. Darlene was a member of Redemption Worship Center under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Green, East Windsor, NJ. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost and she especially embraced her role as a grandmother. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her feel loved and welcomed. She made friends everywhere she went. Darlene loved to love on people. Her joy of the Lord was transparent in conversation and evident to those that came across her path. God truly used her to plant many seeds of faith and she became an influence on her family and friends. In 2017 Darlene was led by God to form a family reunion committee called “Thomas Nation” Created by Love, Built by Love and Bonded by Love to bring us all together with a hope of this legacy continuing from generatoin to generation. Many of her hobbies included, journaling, baking, cooking, dancing, crocheting, supporting her grandchildren functions and a new found love of traveling.
