David Earl Howard, son of Johnnie and Lula Howard was called home to be with the Lord on Monday May 18, 2020 at his home in Florida. David was born May 10, 1960 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was the second to the oldest of six siblings: Johnny Jr., Raymond, Ronald, Jeffery and Catherine. David was educated in the New Brunswick public school system where he graduated from New Brunswick Senior High School in 1979. Upon graduation, he began his career as an Industrial machinist operator for over 20 years. After investing so many years working for others, David decided it was time for him to work for himself, so he partnered with someone else and started a convenient store in the city of New Brunswick, NJ. David was a proud father of two beautiful children; David Jr. and Shawn Michael who preceded him in death in 2016. The death of his son was very hard on him. They lived in New Brunswick for a while, and then moved his family to Somerset, NJ. David relocated to Florida in 2018, to finally live his life for himself. Everyone knew that David’s pride and joy was his grand-daughter Anaya R Howard. There wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for her. His priority was to keep family first. No matter what it takes, David would do anything to keep his family together. There were times when David would assist any family member who fell on hard times and would allow them to move into his home. David would say….” You have up to one year to execute your plan, get a job and get your own place”. Everyone knew that David was famous for coaching, teaching and mentoring you to become a much better person. David loved to entertain. He considered himself to be “The Grill Master”, as he always gave tips on how to cook on the grill. It appeared as if he was having a cook-out at his house every week. His swimming pool even stayed full for everyone to enjoy. David enjoyed playing his guitar. He started playing his guitar in church, and ended playing his guitar in church. This was his gift from God to bring happiness on everyone face. When he played in church, David made you want to, “SHOUT”! Can I get an AMEN? No matter where he went, had his guitar with him. He also played and sang in a group called “Pride and Joy” and “The Howard Brothers” David was very shy to those that didn’t know him. Once David got to know you, you better watch out as he will keep you laughing. David leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories; his parents, Johnnie and Lula Howard of New Brunswick, NJ; his son; David Jr. Howard of New Brunswick, NJ; his grand-daughter, Anaya R Howard; his four brothers; Johnnie Jr. Howard of Somerset, NJ; Raymond Howard of New Brunswick, NJ; Ronald (Marisol) Howard of Virginia; Jeffery Howard of New Brunswick, NJ; one sister, Catherine Howard of North Brunswick, NJ; four nephews; Ronald Jr. Howard, Dwaine Howard, Jeffery Howard, Terrance Howard and two nieces; Ronita Howard and Nyjah Howard and a host of uncle, aunts, cousins, and special friends. David will be truly missed! From David: I am Free; Don’t grieve for me. For now I’m free. I’m following the path God laid for me; I could not stay another day to laugh, to Love, to work, to play. Tasks let undone, must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of day/ If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy: A friend shared, a laugh a kiss, Oh yes these thing I too will miss. Be not burden with times of sorrow, I wish you the joy of tomorrow: My Life been full, I’ve savored much good friends, and Good times, a loved one’s touch. Somewhere there is no parting, Somewhere loved ones are waiting to greet us again. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now. “God Set Me
