On April 13, 2022, God called His daughter, Edith Elizabeth Maynard home. Edith was born on August 24, 1934, to the late Perciville Bramble and Estelle Furlonge. Edith spent her childhood in Montserrat, West Indies. where she attended St. Peter’s School.
Edith learned to sew at the early age of five. She took that love and passion for sewing everywhere she went. She resided in Antigua and then later moved to St. Croix, where she made her home for 48 years before moving to New Jersey in 2017, due to the battle of cancer. Edith was a member of the Kingshill Lutheran Church in which she served in many capacities. Her roles included sewing for the church, performing overall administration duties, counting of tithes and offering, cleaning the church, helping with communion and being a member of the choir.
Edith was a seamstress all her life. She made and designed wedding dresses, school uniforms for children, and men's suits, without using patterns. She also made many household items such as curtains, table runners, sheets, and bedspreads...You name it, she made it!!! She sewed for many pageants that took place in the islands for Ms. Montserrat, Ms. St. Croix,
and the Hal Teen Pageant. At one time, she co-owned a Boutique in which she showcased her items. Edith also sold Avon for over 30 years.
