On June 16th, 2022 God called our beloved Ella Louise Williams home.
Ella was born February 21, 1942 to the late Willie Washington and Queen Victoria Washington in Sumter, South Carolina.
Ella was educated in the South Carolina elementary schools and went on to graduate high school soon after she met her late husband, Joseph Williams Sr.
They then relocated to New Brunswick, NJ. This union was blessed with five children; Mary Washington, Betty Williams, Joseph Williams Jr, Deborah Williams, and Richard Williams.
Aside from being a loving and protective mother, Ella was a housekeeper for many families thought-out central jersey. She was also a very outgoing friend who they referred to as “Scoont”. Ella loved to party in her early days but she was always a God-fearing woman, she was a devoted member of Travelers Baptist Church in Piscataway, NJ for many years.
Ella had a love for plants, nicknacks, candy, and Diet Coke. When her grandchildren came along she spent many of her days caring for them. She was known for keeping a stacked closet with goods and a full cookie jar to keep them smiling.
As time passed and she grew older she became a long-term resident at the Rose Mountain Care Center. The nurses and other employees loved her and would always refer to her as Mama Ella.
Ella will truly be missed. She is predeceased by her parents Willie and Queen Washington, her daughter; Deborah “Nookie” Williams, her long-time loving partner, Pop, and her great-grandson Isaiah Williams.
Left to cherish memories are her children; Mary, Betty, Lil Joe, and Richie (Linda). Her grandchildren; Kasheem, Chrisonda, Daryl, Jomarr, Stephanie, Ryshawn, Ebony, Angela, and Jovan. Her great-grandchildren; Danasia, Janiyah, Zaniyah, Trinity, Aniyah, Zion, Taylor, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The legacy of Ella’s stern spirit, passion for plants, love of pictures, and zest for life will live on through them.
