Ellen Donaldson

September 18, 1956 — May 1, 2020

9/18/1956-5/1/2020 Ellen Michele (Travis) Donaldson was born on September 18,1956 to Ophelia (Kelly) Travis and Daniel Travis at Saint Peters Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Ellen was the youngest of six children. She grew up in Franklin New Jersey, where she was member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens attended school and graduated from Franklin High School. She later went to attend Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC to continue her education. She only attended for two years and then decided to move back to New Jersey to be with her mom (Ophelia) after the passing of her dad (Daniel). Ellen later married Ronnie Donaldson from Barney, GA in 1983. Then went to have 3 beautiful daughters Dominique Melissa Donaldson, Latasha Capri Donaldson and Evanna Simone Donaldson. Ellen moved to Georgia from New Jersey before having her baby girl Evanna, but decided to raise her kids in New Jersey after the passing of her mother (Ophelia). While settling back in New Jersey with her three kids, she became a nurse to help provide the best life she could for her kids. Ellen was a loving, honest, sweet and most caring person that anyone could ever meet. Ellen would not even hurt a fly. Her kids were her everything and meant the world to her. She would always put her kids needs before hers no matter the struggle she had to go through. No matter where Ellen moved she was also known as “the neighborhoods mom”, because she treated everyone as they were her own. Ellen never wanted to see anyone go without, even if it meant giving her last. Ellen had the heart of gold that compared to no other. One thing about Ellen she loved her sports; including football and basketball but her most favorite sport of all time was baseball, which her favorite team was the New York Yankees and you couldn’t tell her anything about those Yankees. She’d watch the pre-game, the actual game and the post game, if you even thought about bothering during the game, she would just ignore you like you didn’t even exist. Ellen loved going on vacations with her children and spending quality time with her most favorite person in the world her grand baby Azari Dominique Lamour. Azari meant everything to Ellen and even asked her daughter (LATASHA) could she adopt her. It was Ellen and Azari against the world. Their favorite place to was to Olive Garden to go get Soup and Salad and no one else was allowed to come. She loved Azari so much words couldn’t even describe the love she had for her. Ellen had just retired as a home health aide and was excited about traveling and seeing the world and going to the Casino. She was preceded in death by her Mother (Ophelia), Father (Daniel) and her daughter (Dominique). She leaves to cherish her loving children LATASHA Capri Donaldson and Evanna Simone Donaldson, a granddaughter Azari Dominique Lamour of New Jersey and lastly her husband Ronnie Donaldson of Valdosta, GA. Sister (Jean Cook) Brother (Wilbur Travis), Brother (Gerald Travis), Sister (Linda Curry) and Brother (Michael Travis) all from New Jersey. Along either her best friend (Christina Hollingsworth also know as her traveling buddy) along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
