Gwendolyn Louise Santana

February 13, 1944 — June 6, 2020

IN TRIBUTE TO GWENDOLYN LOUISE SANTANA 02/13/44 – 06/08/20 MRS. GWENDOLYN LOUISE SANTANA, affectionately known as “ANNA” to family and “MISS GWEN” to most, left this life to return with the Lord on Monday, June 8, 2020. Gwendolyn was born to her parents, the late Willie James Smith and Willie Maude Battle, February 13, 1944. Gwendolyn was born in Atlanta, GA and moved to Carteret, NJ at an early age and was educated in the Carteret School system. Gwendolyn’s favorite passion was completing “Cross Word Puzzles” at a rapid speed along with polishing her beautiful fingernails several times a day… never using less than 4 coats per day… Gwendolyn was a walking “Wikipedia” a wealth of knowledge in almost all areas namely events, dates, times and what was going on at the time. Her love of reading was evident during her conversations and again, as she completed her New York Times Puzzles in record time. She earned the name “ANNA” by way of “ANALYZING” everything… That knowledge will be terribly missed, who will we call now to get our family dates and records…amongst other things. Gwendolyn Louise Santana was predeceased by her husband, Edwardo Santana; parents, Billy, and Willie Maude; and her siblings Steve and Timothy. Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memory 2 sons, Darryl of Atlanta and Craig of Fords, a daughter, Tami of Millsville; her brother, Talat of Lithonia, sisters Janis and her husband JR of Atlanta, Karen and her husband Raymond of Perth Amboy. Grandchildren Vincent, Chanele, Courtney, Crystal, DeVora, Zoe, Orrieann, Sharisse, Talisha, Simone and Nico; Great-Grandchildren Chassidy, Kamora, Cayden and Robert; Nieces, Nephews, God Sons Brian, and Blaine. To say that Miss Gwen is going to be missed, is an understatement, but it gives the family comfort in knowing she resides in the presence of the Almighty God and free from all cares of this life and forever FREE.
