Helen A. Baldwin, “Our Angel, was born on Thursday, February 25, 1960 to the late Frederick Wade Baldwin and Dorothy Johnson-Baldwin in Pensacola, Florida.
Helen attended Barringer High School in Newark, NJ from 1974-1978. From high school, she worked various jobs throughout the years until she landed herself at Shore Vans Bus Company in 1995. Helen loved her job at Shore Vans as she was known to be the most obedient, well respected bus driver for over 25 years. There at Shore Vans, Helen built numerous lifelong relationships. One of those friendships progressed to become near and dear to her heart as she found her fiancée, Linda Rush. The two of them began their union in October 2005 and each day from then on was a joy to remember.
Affectionately known as “Helen, Auntie, G-MA, Sis, and of course “Our Angel on Earth”, she enjoyed cooking, her Dallas Cowboys, her dog baby Versace now in heaven, and a fresh hot cup of coffee with 1 teaspoon of cream and 3 teaspoons of sugar. Helen had a heart of gold. She was loving and passionate to everyone around her and would give you her very last whenever she could. Helen’s heart and pureness defined her, and it truly made her one of a kind. We know that it will NEVER be another Helen!
Helen was very family oriented, and hosted many cookouts in the backyard of Peshine, (you just had to be there)! Known as CapTown’s favorite cook, she loved making her famous meatloaf with homemade BBQ sauce, potato salad, macaroni salad, her crispy golden fried chicken, collard greens, church cake, and last but not least her homemade turkey soup that she made once a year but could warm your belly for the entire winter. Her family and friends enjoyed her great cooking and never ceased to remind her every chance they got!
Helen maintained her faith and pure heart even through health challenges as she battled lung cancer for over a year, and fought until the very end. The love and trust that she had in her savior Jesus Christ, she boundlessly expressed to her friends and family. After a blessed 64 years, late Thursday night at 11:10 pm, on July 25, 2024 she quietly returned to the arms of her Heavenly father.
Helen is predeceased by her parents, Frederick Wade Baldwin and Dorothy Baldwin, her sisters Iris D. Baldwin and Avis A. Baldwin.
