Henry Matthew Coleman was born April 13, 1946,in Mansfield, Louisiana, to Mae T. Coleman and John James Coleman. They had nine children. Henry was the youngest of the nine children. He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a medic. Mr. Coleman resides in New Jersey for over forty years. He worked on many jobs as an Electronic Technician and Engineer Assistant. He led an incredible life. Henry lived briefly in Rochester, New York, Buffalo, New York, and Houston Texas. Henry made the transition to grandfather. He rejoiced at the accomplishments of his son, Matthew Bryce Coleman. Henry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. Henry enjoyed watching his son, Matthew perform with the New Jersey Youth Symphony Orchestra, Cranford Intergenerational Orchestra, and the Westfield Symphony Orchestra. He also enjoyed all sports, especially basketball, football and baseball. The highlight of it was watching his son perform and attending various games. He had a vigor for life. Henry loved listening to Jazz Music, reading, and cooking. His favorite musicians were Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Sarah Vaughan, Wynton Marsalis. Henry enjoyed cooking Louisiana Cuisine Foods. His specialties included soups, gumbos, sweet potato pies, pecan pies, and stuffed Cornish Hens with rice ingredients. He was the happiest behind the stove feeding those he loved. Always remember his generous heart, which was just as large as his personality. Henry was always willing, and eager to give a helping hand. Whenever, a person in the neighborhood was having a financial crisis, he would reach his hands in his pocket and donate. He has assisted many individuals in the area with their plumbing and electrical problems. Henry would grab his tools and race to their home to solve the problem. He was excellent in mathematics and science because of his educational background. Henry tutored several students in mathematics and science. This enables the students to be very successful with their education. Henry is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Coleman, his son, Matthew Bryce Coleman, granddaughter, Ari Michelle Coleman of New Jersey, three sisters, Ruth Vaughan, Maryann Lightfoot, Josephine Coleman, sister-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy J. Wilson, brother-in-law, Robert W. Hartley, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
