Inez R Blair

Inez Blair, of East Orange, NJ, who departed this life at the age of 87 on April 5, 2025. Inez was born on October 13, 1937, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, to the late John F. Ross and Alice Ross. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Walter Blair Sr., with whom she shared many cherished years of life and love.

Inez was a spirited, witty woman full of life, and her vibrant personality left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was the proud owner of a clothing store, where she built a successful career and formed meaningful relationships with her customers. Inez was also known for her devotion to her community, dedicating her time and care to the Nurse Ministry at Abyssinian Baptist Church.

Mrs. Blair was lovingly known in her neighborhood as the "snow cone lady" for the joy she brought to local children. Her warm spirit and infectious energy made her a beloved figure in the community, and she will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Inez is survived by her children Walter Blair Jr., Raymond Blair, Margaret Marshall (daughter-in-law), Calvin Blair, Tamica Best (daughter-in-law) and Jerry Watson as well as her beloved grandchildren Brandy Ross, Richard Ross Jr., Mikalah Marshall, Raediance Blair, Karee Marshall, and Davon Banks. Inez was predeceased by her son Richard Ross of whom she missed dearly.

Inez also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, and her god-sons Curtis Dorch and Rodney Williams all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Inez’s love for her family, her community, and her church will remain a lasting legacy. She leaves behind memories that will continue to bring warmth and joy to all who knew her.
