Jacqueline Britt was born on Friday, October 29, 1943, along with her twin sister Sandra Jean,
to parents Beulah and George Britt in Ahoskie, North Carolina.
Jacqueline attended and graduated from Robert L. Vann High School in Ahoskie, North
Carolina. She gave birth to her only child, Sylvia, in 1957, and later relocated to Elizabeth, New
Jersey where she worked various jobs throughout the years to upkeep the home she was
blessed with. She loved her job at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, and was known by many
residents for her tender love and care and good grits.
Affectionately known as “Jackie”, “Aunt Jack”, “GiGi”, “Gram'', “Lady” and of course “Sister
Britt”, she enjoyed shopping, gardening and going out. She loved parties and attended many
with a fancy hat and bad pair of heels! Jacqueline was an avid traveler, and visited many places.
While she wasn’t opposed to hopping on a plane, cruises were always her favorite. She loved
music, and could often be seen dancing with her sisters at one of the many cookouts she
hosted. She loved making cakes, pies, rolls, mac and cheese, ribs with homemade barbecue
sauce, greens, potato salad, and fried fish. Her family enjoyed her good cooking every chance
they got. In her later years, Jacqueline maintained her independence through health challenges
well, including driving herself to and from dialysis care.
She faithfully attended New Bethel Baptist Church for many years. The love and trust she had in
her savior, Jesus Christ, she boundlessly expressed to her friends and family. Jacqueline loved
life, and life loved Jacqueline.
After a blessed eighty years, early Friday, July 12, 2024, she quietly returned into the arms of
her Heavenly Father.
Jacqueline is predeceased by her parents: Beulah and George Britt, and her siblings Edwards
Wynn, James Brewer, William H. Brewer, Agnes Britt, Lillie Mae Wilson, Cora Lee Williams,
Minnie Thomas and Lillian Brewer. She also joins in heaven her great-granddaughter, Janiyia
Botticello.
To continue her legacy, she leaves behind: her twin sister, Sandra J. Jordan (Carl) daughter,
Sylvia M. Britt. Grandchildren: Jacqueline T. Botticello (Jason), Erik J. Green Britt (Dekina) and
Kezia S. Thomas-Britt. Great-Grandchildren: Chance X. Botticello, Choyce R. Botticello, Chase
K. Botticello, Kaven A. Green Britt and McKenzie J. Green Britt and host of cousins, nieces and

May Jacqueline continue to rest in peace, as she also continues to live in our hearts FOREVER.
