Jacqueline Michelle Johnson, daughter of Thomas and Joanne Harris was born June 14, 1962 in Newark New Jersey, and was called home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2019. Jackie graduated from Colonia High School and went on to attend Essex County College in Newark, New Jersey where she graduated with a degree in Business Management. Jackie was a devoted mother to her son Joshua, who was the absolute joy of her life. For every activity Joshua participated in, she would be there to show her support. For all of the baseball and football games, as well as the track & field meets, she was always in attendance. Through her unwavering support and strong determination for her son to succeed, she made every effort and has taken every step to ensure that Joshua attends college. Jackie was active in her community as well as an active member in the church that she loved, Faith in Action Church located in Manville, New Jersey. Akind heart, giving spirit and a bountiful amount of generosity to spare, Jackie was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. She had a ready sense of humor and a deft skill at making people feel immediately at ease.She was known for being a caring and giving person she selfishly gave aid to anyone who asked. She was a caregiver who loved children; aiding in the rearing of many who crossed her path; and a woman to be admired for her big heart. Jackie is preceded in death by her sister Patricia Ann Harris and brother Anthony Dwayne Harris of Colonia, NJ; granddaughter of the late Charlie Johnson of Spring Lake, NC; the late Everlena Johnson of Colonia, NJ; and the late Palmer and Sylvester Harrison of Littleton, NC. Jackie leaves to honor the memory of her love and kindness, herprecious son, Joshua Isaiah Evens; parents, Joanne J. Harris of Colonia, NJ and Thomas A. Harris (Barbara) of Littleton, NC; Lacy McDonald of Parkton, NC; sister, Gwendolyn Harris-West of Norwood, MA; niece, Nicole West; two nephews, Curtis West Jr., and Elias West; four uncles and twelve aunts; special cousin Barry Landis; devoted friends Michelle Muniz and Tanya Bartfield; brother in-law Curtis; and a host of relatives and friends. Jackie had an abundant amount of love in her heart to consider many individuals as part of her extended family.She will be greatly missed.
