Johnnie Mack Daniels

Johnnie Mack Daniels (Daddy, Grandaddy, Grand Pop, Brother John, Uncle John, Big John, Johnnie Mack, Mr. J.D, Mr. Daniels) was born on August 7, 1944 to the late Mary Hines Daniels and Isaiah Daniels Sr., he departed this life peacefully on Sunday November 29, 2020 surrounded by his family. Johnnie was raised and educated in Greenville, North Carolina, he was an outstanding football player who showed his offensive and defensive talent at Epps High School. Johnnie was the fourth eldest of 8 children. Johnnie welcomed his first daughter Tia Newkirk in 1965. In January of 1969 he married Linda Earl Spell and to this union three children were born Jennifer L. Daniels, Tameka L. Daniels and the late Terrelle L. Daniels. Johnnie worked for the CoCola Plant in Kearney, NJ, Amarada Hess, Hercules Chemical Plant, and The University of Medicine and Dentistry of Newark, New Jersey where he was a Senior Lead in Housekeeping. Johnnie retired in July of 2019 after a career of over fifty years. Johnnie Mack had a love for fashion and loved to dress. He raised his children and then helped raise his grandchildren. and support his grandchildren. Johnnie was known as a kind and loving person who was a selfless giver. Johnnie was a father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and god father who posses a loving heart for all. He loved family gatherings and could cook up a storm. He was a beast on the grill for cookouts. Johnnie’s passing leaves a void in our lives that only God and time will heal. Surviving to cherish his precious memories are his daughters Tia Newkirk, Jennifer L. Daniels and Tameka L. Daniels. Siblings Isiah Daniels Jr, Carrie Lynn, Mary Tyson, Willie R. Daniels, Florence Jackson and Patricia Daniels. Grandchildren Rhea Newkirk, Wileya Newkirk, Kyree A. Daniels, Justin E. Harrell and Jasmine E. Harrell. Great Grandchildren Chayce Newkirk, Damani Newkirk and Kaiser Daniels, god-daughter Shreena Coleman-Hinton and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
