Kisha Monique Sanders was born on October 23, 1976, to the late Anita and Sylvester Sanders, Jr. Kisha was called home on October 24, 2023. Kisha began her education in Irvington public schools, she attended Berkely Terrace Elementary School, Myrtle Avenue Middle School, and she went on to eventually graduate from Frank H. Morrell “Irvington High School” in 1994. She went on to meet the love of her life, Sharod Sanders; their love for each other was unmatched for over 25 years all while remaining the best of friends. They welcomed beautiful children together. Kisha loved her kids more than anything and would literally move mountains for them; they were her biggest blessing. To know her was to love her. Kisha was loyal and would cut no corners and tell you how it is all while still loving you. You couldn’t help but to love her. She was affectionately known as “Kee” by her close family and friends. Her smile, pure heart, and feisty charisma pierced the hearts of many. She was a hard worker and about her “M.O.N.E.Y.” She dedicated 24 years to the Dove community/Maggie’s kids where she left a permanent mark on so many treating our kids as she would her own.
Kisha was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Anita Sanders; paternal grandparents, Oscar and Ruth Hall and Sylvester Sr. and Johnnie Mae Sanders; and nephew, Haneef Sanders.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her five children, Kiyarah Sanders, Sharod Saunders, Shaniah Saunders, and Shaleese Saunders; her “mook mook,” Sa’har Saunders; stepchildren, Bambi Saunders and Shaquan Williams; goddaughter, Kayla McClam; grandchildren, Zameria Saunders and Kizar Francois; nieces and nephews, Najee, Najiyyah, Clara, Ronald and Nyasia Saunders, Ibn Domino, Earl Holloway, Davonia Moore, and Dawan Thompson; brothers, Donnell Hall, Sylvester Saunders III, and Otis Barrett; sisters, Chanita, Chante, Tonya and Loria Saunders, Shameeka Pierce, Surinea Saunders, Quanisha Burgess; mother-in-law, Clara Sanders; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
You will forever be missed and cherished. JOB WELL DONE, Kisha Monique Sanders!
