Lawrence Windham

August 19, 1966 — January 18, 2018

Lawrence Anthony Windham was born on August 19, 1966 to Gloria Windham and Lawrence Spradley Jr. in New Brunswick, NJ. Although he was named after his Dad, at a very early age he gained the nickname Tony, which was short for his middle name, Anthony. He lived most of his younger years in Piscataway, NJ (The Heights) and attended the Piscataway Township School Systems before moving to New Brunswick, NJ and attending New Brunswick High School. After High School, Tony spent a brief time in the United States Army. Tony was preceded in death by his younger sister Patricia Mosley Adams whom everyone knew as “Trish”, his Maternal Grandparents Breely Sr & Mary Windham, his Paternal Grandparents Lawrence Spradley Sr & Dorothy Tribble, his Paternal Uncle Ronald Jackson and his Nephew Warren Jaquan Bradley (Pudda). Tony leaves to cherish in loving memories his mother Gloria Windham (Carl) of Deltona FL, his father Lawrence Spradley Jr (Gail) of Somerset, NJ, his siblings Tammy Windham-Jackson (Maurice) of Piscataway, NJ, Teesha Stout of Richmond, VA, Gianni Spradley of North Brunswick, NJ and Joshua Spradley of Somerset, NJ. Maternal Uncles Henry Windham (Patty) of Spring, TX, Breely Windham Jr (Ann) of Somerset, NJ, Frank Windham of Stone Mountain, GA, Charles Windham (Cheryl) of Stone Mountain, GA, and Ernest Windham (Shelly) of Burlington, NJ. Maternal Aunts Donna Windham- Carswell of Dallas, GA and Valerie Windham-Gordon of Murfreesboro, TN. Paternal Uncles Dennis Brown Sr of West Orange, NJ and Vincent Spradley (Kim) of Gilbert, AZ. Paternal Aunts, Francine Roberts (Ed) of Austin, TX, Sharon Jackson of Plainfield, NJ and Ivy Almond (Curtis) of Columbus, OH. Two nephews, Maurice Jackson II of Piscataway, NJ and Samuel Adams V of Virginia Beach, VA. Three nieces E’Toya Jackson of Piscataway, NJ, La’Niyah Bradley of Virginia Beach, VA and Jaylah Adams of Easton, PA. And a host of other relatives and friends. If you knew Tony well, you knew his life story. He basically lived life on his own terms. So, who are we to judge? Tony will truly be missed. He was a real character and always knew how to make you laugh. He always liked to be stylish in his dress and was a natural when it came to academics. Tony enjoyed watching the Knicks play basketball and he was a good B-Ball player himself. Because of his love for Disc Jockey (DJ’ing) he gained the nickname “Scratch” for “cutting” and “scratchin” on the turntables. Some years later he picked up a few other nicknames “True”, Lateef or LA for short. Whether you knew him as Tony, Scratch,True, Lateef or LA he would always leave you laughing with his sense of humor.
