On Friday October 20, 2017 God visited Lucille Ida Taliaferro at her home of many many years in Westfield New Jersey, looked upon her and said “Daughter it’s time for me to take you home. You have run the race, fought the good fight of faith and finished your purpose so now it’s time to rest”. LUCILLE was born February 10 th 1920 in Jersey City, New Jersey, one of five children born to the late Joseph and Ida Silas. She graduated from Lincoln Senior High and then went to Empire Beauty School to pursue a career in Cosmetology. On November 15, 1942 Lucille married her first and only love Robert Taliaferro. Outside of her church duties she was involved in various community activities. Lucille was a woman of faith, style, grace, beauty and wisdom. She was very independent, strong-willed, organized and outgoing. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing holiday dinners, scrumptious desserts (fruit cake, peach cobbler and cream cheese pound cake) for her family and friends to enjoy. Lucille was also supportive of others and could always be counted on in time of need.
