Mable’s Life Story Mable L. Cherry, age 70, transitioned this life on September 5, 2018 surrounded by her family. Mable, the baby of fifteen children was born on November 3, 1947 to Elmore Sr. and Mattie L. Curry in Prichard, Alabama and later migrated to Plainfield, New Jersey in the 1960’ s. Mable was predeceased by her husband Spencer Cherry, Jr. , daughter, Charletta M. Cherry and grandson, Spencer N. Cadogan. She is survived by her daughters Lisa D. Cherry and Sarah M. Cherry Cadogan of Plainfield, NJ and her son Samuel (Alfreeda) of Newfield, NJ, seventeen grandchildren: Yaasmiene M. Cherry, Antoinette N. Booker, Ronald P. Cherry, Anthony L. Johnson, Rashad A. Cherry, Marquetteus O. Johnson, Nathalla K. Cadogan Bowen (Luther), Nya K. Cadogan, Shanei A. Cherry, Niara. K. Cadogan, Samuel O. Cherry, Jr., Tyquan M. Cherry, Tyisha R. Smith, Antwan M. Cherry, Umbrielle A. Cherry and Nia D. Johnson. Sixteen great grandchildren: Yaasmiene A. Cherry, Elijah Blain, Za'Niyah Caesar, Anthony C. Cherry, Azariah N. Cadogan White, Yaasirah Whaley, Nalani S. Cadogan , Amiah Johnson, Semaj Sonson, Kayden Johnson, Aharon Cherry, Xhara Cherry, Olander Cherry, Sadie Cherry, Samaria Cherry and Kain Johnson. Visitation will take place at 9:00 am at Rose of Sharon Community Church in Plainfield. Services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 at Rose of Sharon Community Church in Plainfield followed by internment at Hillside Cemetery of Samptown in South Plainfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Plinton Curry Funeral Home of Westfield/ Somerset. .
