Malik A Mc Allister

October 8, 1982 — July 5, 2021

Malik A. McAllister was born to the union of the late Marshall (Rasheen) McAllister and Romain Barnes-McAllister on October 8, 1982 in Newark NJ. Malik was the youngest of Romain's three sons. Rasheen, his father passed untimely when Malik was just a toddler. Malik was summoned to eternal rest along with his oldest brother, Tarik Barnes in the early morning of July 5th, 2021. Although born in Newark, NJ Romain settled in Irvington, NJ where Malik was raised along with his two brothers, Tarik and Muhammed. Malik shared a close bond with his older brothers, one always looking out out for the other. Malik was educated at St. Rocco's in Newark, and continued his education in Newark and Irvington Public Schools. He received his High School Diploma from the State of North Carolina. Malik may have been the youngest child but he was an Ol' Soul. You could always find him enjoying Oldies but Goodies music from artists like Sam Cook, Temptations, and Teddy Pendergrass to name a few. Also a thrill seeker, Malik had an avid love for cars and motorcycles. There wasn't a motor vehicle on this earth that he could not or would not drive. He was the Road Captain of his motorcycle club, "Chaos on wheels" where he wore the moniker "Boss" and a Boss he was. In 2013 Malik was introduced to Nikisha "Nikki" Sanders through his cousin Pam. Malik was smitten with Nikki and she with him. They hit it off and became fast friends. That friendship developed into a beautiful loving partnership and the two were married May 25, 2018. Malik was an attentive and doting husband always putting his family first. He never missed a chance to show his wife how much loved and appreciated her and she him. Both owning their own businesses, when you saw Nikki and Malik, you saw a power couple committed to helping each other live out their dreams. They were affectionately known as "Boss & Bosslady", Malik was the proud father of three sons, Korin (17), Little Malik (11), and Malachi (7) born from previous relationships. Every ounce of his being was poured into making sure his family was taken care of. He took great pride in fatherhood and fell right into place when he partnered with his wife who has two biological children, and was the foster parent of three boys. Malik was a bonus dad and embraced his middle son's siblings as his own. Malik and Nikki opened their home to many. He found honor in being a great provider and caregiver to his loved ones. Malik was also looking forward to becoming a grandfather, hoping that his recently married step-daughter, Nyasia would make it happen. Malik was a "Man's Mans" he walked to the beat of his own drum. Whatever Malik wanted, he worked at getting. He was a man of principle and held strong convictions when it came to family, finances and loyalty. In late 2020 he was able realize his dream of becoming a Owner/Operator of his own trucking business which he named "Legit Transport, LLC." One thing for certain, anything Malik put his mind to, he would accomplish! Malik was very handy and was often teased by his wife, calling him, "Bob the Builder"- there was always a home improvement project he was working on at the home he shared with his wife and children. Malik will be sadly missed and leaves to cherish his memory a loving devoted wife- Nikisha Sanders-McAllister; his mother- Romain Harris; three sons- Korin Wilson, Malik McAlliser, Malachi McAllister; one brother- Muhammed Barnes (Rahnisha); sister- Nekira Harris; grandmother- Gracie Barnes; step-children, Nyasia Jones-Mahoney (Jordan), Javandre House, Khalif Sandifer, Davyon Cook; bonus children- Trevor Delapara, Angela Delapara; three nephews- Nasir Barnes, Zahir Barnes, Raymond Harris "Baby RJ"; one niece- Zanylah Jennings; five aunts -Valen Williams,Teresa Owens, Deborah Walton, Linda McAllister, Jean Matthews; uncle- Calvin Justice; godparents- Andres and Clementine Davis and a host of close relatives and friends.
