Marion Louise Rogers was born on February 19, 1934 to the late Vera Parrish Brodie and Arthur Brodie. She departed from this life on November 23, 2020. Marion was a member of New Beginnings Faith Fellowship Church for many years where she sang in the choir until her health started to decline. She worked for many years in the Newark Public School system where her children attended for many years until retiring in 1996. Marion also was a member of the VFW Post 9015 Women’s Auxiliary for many years. Marion married Johnny Rogers on March 13, 1956 and four children were born to this union. Preceding her in death are parents/stepfather, Arthur and Vera Brodie (Jacob Anderson); husband Johnny, sisters Mary, Annie (Wardell); brothers Granderson “GT (Martha), Arthur “Red” (Barbara), William “Buck” (Sarah), Willie (Lillian); stepsisters – Mae,Hallie, Tempie Lou, Missouri, Novella and Dorothy. Four sisters-in-law Elizabeth Harris (James), Ossie Anderson (Alexander), Eva Johnson (Eddie), Viola Taylor (Zach), Four brothers-in-law Joe Rogers (Norma), Hosea Rogers (Doris), James Rogers (Roberta), Walter Rogers (Carnell). She leaves to cherish her memories; sons Clifford and Tracy - Rahway, NJ, daughters Jackie (Alfred) - Newark, NJ and Gina (Dominque) - Rahway, NJ, four grandchildren; LaTrice Grier (Maurice) – St. Johns, FL; Jeffrey Crawford, Jr. – Jacksonville, FL; Nadiyah Thomas – Orange, NJ and Jordan Rogers – Newark, NJ; three great-grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren, one bonus granddaughter Alicia Rhoe and a host of nieces, nephews and friends and a very special long-time friend Fran Kennedy.
