Marsha L Turner

August 1, 1956 — January 18, 2022

Marsha was born on August 1, 1956 in Orange, NJ to Frederick H. Turner and Thelma L. Turner. She attended Nassau Elementary school in East Orange, NJ and graduated from Hillside High School in 1974. She attended Berkley Business School and Ellen Cushing Jr.College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. After college, her employment journey started at Claims Processing in West Orange, NJ, where she worked as a medical claims processor for a few years and fromthere, Marsha worked at Orange Memorial Hospital for 12 years. Shortly thereafter, she became employed at UMDNJ-University Behavioral Healthcare Clinical Records Unit in Newark, NJ and later transferred and retired from what is now called UBHC Rutgers, Piscataway Campus. Marsha retired after 25 years of service in 2018.

Marsha AKA, Mar, Teabags, and Sweetie Pie, loved Gospel andR&B music especially Diana Ross. She enjoyed cruising the islands, dining out, Brenda’s BB Chicken and would say “Great Chicken Sis”, Broadway shows/musicals, Imitation of Life, Sight and Sound Theater, Bus Rides, Bio Pics, and I love Lucy. Marsha was an active member at her church and loved being an Usher. She was serious about her Christian journey and spread the word to neighbors and friends. She wanted all to know how God changed her life. She was also serious about being a God-mother.

Marsha practiced self-care and made sure to never miss her bi-weekly hair appointments at Ms. Darlene’s beauty salon and would say to us “I’m getting my hair done” everything else can wait. She loved Ms. Darlene.
