Mary L Cuttino

December 11, 1936 — June 21, 2021

If angels were here on earth, Mary L. Evans Cuttino would be the wind beneath your wings. She was born on December 11, 1936, in Farmville, Virginia to (the late) Pauline Edwards and Henry Evans. A woman with ambition, Mary moved to Woodbine, New Jersey in 1956 before settling intoNewark, New Jersey where she met her husband Walter Cuttino Sr. at his cousin’s house and together had four children. She was wealthy and blessed in spirit. The life lessons of responsibility she taught us at an early age instilled the values of learning how to take care of your future family that you we would have one day. She taught us how to cook, sew, take care of the home, and how to be financially responsible for your family. A woman of soulful morals, she guided her children through life lessons on becoming self-sufficient, successful, and treating yourself and others with respect in the presence of society. She would always listen and encourage our dreams and never discourage our aspirations in life because she would always say dreams are free and that anything was possible. A true warrior angel of God, she maximized all that life had to offer and was no stranger to honing a hard work ethic. She never missed a birthday, holiday, graduation, dance recital, or major life event. Family was the garden she watered daily and because of this her son Paul always showed off his cooking skills to impress her with love on holidays. We thank our mother for being able to care for our children and creating a lifetime of memories by blessing us with her joyful presence. It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Mary a beloved wife, devoted mother and stepmother, a nurturing grandmother, and loving mother-in-law. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Paul, David, Leslie, and Eric; her stepdaughter: Patricia; her grandchildren: Tiana, Laurie, Danielle, and David Justin “DJ”.; her sisters: Dorothy “Dot”Woods and Ada Mayfield; her daughters-in-law: Christine and Tasha; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mary will be greeted at the gates of heaven by her husband: Walter Sr.; her stepson: Walter Jr.; her brother: Henry Jr.; and her beloved pet Spice. We rejoice and thank God for each moment we shared with Mary Cuttino. You’ve been with us from the start everything you’ve done straight from the heart. We will always remember you and cherish every loving memory.
