Mealah Kameele Haughton

July 28, 1977 — September 10, 2024

Mealah “Millie” Kameele Haughton, 47, determined, selfless and cherished daughter

and mother, passed away on September 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with

cancer. Born on July 28, 1977, in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Mealah’s life was marked by

her unwavering dedication to her family.

Mealah moved to the United States in 1991 and completed her high school and tertiary

education. She received her associate’s degree in liberal arts education in 2003 and

embarked on a career in banking and account development. In 2013, she explored Pre-

Nursing studies and faced the choice between prioritizing motherhood and advancing

her career. Despite her professional success, Mealah always felt her greatest

accomplishment was raising her three sons.

Known for her wisdom, tenacity and welcoming personality, Mealah had a gift for finding

creative solutions to the most difficult situations. She consistently promoted a balanced

perspective and had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued even during her

own challenging times. Mealah was fearless in her expectations of those she loved. She

was a praying mother, dedicated to instilling courage, integrity and a strong educational

foundation in her children. She will be embedded in our hearts forever.

Mealah is survived by her father Easton, mother Judith, children Malahkyle, Malik and

Nathaniel, sisters Janice and Gillian, brothers Daniel and Satchell, dear friend Norlyn

and other relatives and friends.
