Peggy Darby was born on July 29, 1957 to Daniel and Alice Darby in Trenton, NJ. She is the third of 10 children born to this union. She grew up in Piscataway, NJ. Peggy spent a portion of her adult years living in New Brunswick, NJ. From there Peggy moved to Edison NJ where she was a long time resident for over 30 years until her death. Peggy was a bus driver for 33 years. For the past 12 years, she drove for the Edison Board of Education. Peggy’s incredible work ethic is a testament to her loyalty to her employer and the children that she serviced. So much so that she did not take any sick days in 11 years. She was literally everyone's bus driver, from her daughters’ friends down to their children. She brightened up the children’s day with her loving personality. Peggy was a member of the Faith Fellowship Ministry for 32 years where she sang in the choir and served as an usher. Peggy loved worshipping in song and ushering in souls for the Lord. She would spend her free time enjoying movies, music and shopping. On October 31, 2018, Peggy passed away at Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick, New Jersey after a brief battle with cancer. Peggy was predeceased by her father Daniel Darby, two brothers Daniel Darby Jr, David Darby and her granddaughter, Trinity Asada Edwards. Peggy leaves to mourn her mother, Alice Darby; her children: Gwendolyn Darby, MD and Jamara Darby, NJ. Grandchildren: Kameera Darby, Yaseir Thomas, Zahir White and Zamiyah Williams of Maryland. Siblings: Louise Jones, NJ, Diane Roach, PA, Roberta Braxton, GA, Andrew Darby, NC, Benjamin Darby, NJ, Denise Darby, VA and Matthew Darby, CA. Peggy also had 3 bonus daughters Tasha Lugo, Rasheedah Canty and Desarie Littriello who she loved as her own. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also cherish her memory. .
