Priscilla Isom-Seward was born December 1, 1953 in Orange, NJ to the late Leroy Isom and Will Mae Carter of Georgia. She was raised and lived in the city of Orange the majority of her life. Priscilla was educated in the Orange Public school system, and graduated from Orange High School in 1972. Priscilla loved to sing, she was an avid music lover and performed in Talent shows while attending high school. Later in life she became an active member of the Abyssinian Baptist Church located in Newark, NJ where she joined the Senior Choir. Priscilla was also known to sing a song personalized just for you. Priscilla worked at Prudential Insurance Co. located in Roseland, NJ for many years as a computer programmer. She used her computer knowledge to work various part-time jobs doing tax preparations. She also worked in retail stores at Youth World Children’s Clothing in Orange, NJ and Two Guys dept store in Jersey City, NJ. Priscilla served as PTA president of Oakwood Avenue School in Orange, NJ in the 1980’s. Priscilla was a devoted mother, deeply caring, a people person, and left an impression on everyone she encountered. She enjoyed spending time with family and will always be loved. And most importantly she was a child of God. On February 16, 2019 God sent his angels to her side to set her tired soul free and now she is at peace. Priscilla is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merketroy Seward and companion Lionel Rogers. Priscilla leaves to cherish her precious memory: a daughter, Casey Kent (John), Hillside, NJ son, Qian Isom (Natisha) of Atlanta, Georgia. Eight grandchildren, Brandon, Isis, King, Madison, Qian Jr., Qianna, Raymond and Willow. A great grandchild Raylon. Sister, Mildred “Louise” Isom-Clark (William “Jerome”) of East Orange, NJ and a half-brother William T. Carter of Newark, NJ and a host other relatives and friends. On this day, we are here not to mourn. We gather to celebrate the life of Priscilla Isom-Seward. She will be greatly missed.
