Quincy E Holmes-Davis

Quincy Ethel Holmes Davis was born in Tifton, Georgia on May 11, 1952, to Bertha Holmes Blanchard and Andrew Davis. She received her primary education in Tifton, Georgia and later graduated from Rahway High School in New Jersey. She then attended and graduated from Kean University, in Union New Jersey where she received a Bachelors in Social Work. After graduating from college, Quincy worked for the New Jersey Union County Welfare Board as a Case Worker for four years. She then started her lengthy career with New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services for 28 years, retiring in 2008. Upon retiring in 2008, Quincy worked as a substitute for Plainfield Board of Education. Quincy had a lifetime love and an extensive collection of Thomas Blackshear (Ebony Vision), Sarah Attic, and All God's Childrens figurines, to which she called them “her children”. Quincy was always willing to offer her help to anyone in need. She treated everyone with kindness and never judged anyone. Her love for her family was contagious and her memory will live on in our hearts forever. ONE OF A KIND, ONE IN A MILLION. Quincy Ethel Holmes Davis, departed this world Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Overlook Medical Hospital in Summit, New Jersey. She was predeceased by her Grandmother Ethel Lue Holmes, Father Andrew Davis, Step-Father James A. Blanchard, Aunts Rudine and Naomi, Uncles Wallace, Machel, and Larry. She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother Bertha Holmes Blanchard; Daughter Jacqueline (Andrew) Holmes Johnson; Granddaughter's Makesha S. Holmes, Jailyn DeBerry and LaJarda C. Larry; Great Grandson Jesiah M. Holmes; God Daughter Michelle Wright; three sister: Wisteria (Wayne) Johnson of Anchorage, AK, Suzanne Link of Aubumdale, MA, and Yvonne Blanchard of Columbus, GA; four brothers: Dana (Elaine)Holmes of Peachtree City, GA, Dennis (Jackie) Holmes of Huntsville, AL, Gary Holmes of Fairburn, GA, and Timothy (Natasha) Blanchard of Coco Creek, FL; Special Granddaughters: Hanae and Asha McCray, and Natalie Toney; Special Grandson: Jayden McIver; Special Daughters: Vonetta DeBerry and Lynnette Corney; Devoted Friends: Brenda Wright, Kathy Williams and John; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
