Rahim Lydell Martin-Byrd was born on August 30, 1994 in Newark, New Jersey where he resided until he moved to East Orange, New Jersey at the tender age of 9 years old. He attended Park Avenue Elementary School, Jamas Children’s University (grades 3-8), Cicely Tyson Middle & High School where he graduated in 2013. Rahim went on to enroll in the Union County Vo-tech Electrician program in 2014 where he gained skills to inspect and test components of electrical systems. After his educational career he was ready for the world, he moved to Florida, Georgia, Alabama and then North Carolina. It was in NC where he began to thrive, he worked for Si Fulfillment Solutions for 2 years, not only did he gain work experience to advance his professional experience but a family who truly loved & adored him. It’s undeniable that Rahim was a kind, loving and compassionate young man who always wore a lovely and compelling smile. He was a known performer with undisputable rapping and dancing skills, he always had a joke or two to tell and a personality that could fill a room with joy & love. He found pleasure and fulfillment in putting a smile on someone’s face even if he wasn’t feeling his best. Rahim was proceeded in death by his Father Ray Foster Martin Jr., his Grandmother Mary F. Smith, and Grandfather Otis L. Byrd. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved mother Keicha Byrd, siblings Tyrone Martin, Keichaqia & ZyErika Belle, Grandmother Barbara Byrd, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews and a host family & friends.
