Tarji Simmons

Tarji Renee McQueen-Simmons June 14, 1961-October 1, 2017 Tarji Renee McQueen-Simmons was born June 14, 1961 to William and Betty McQueen in Brooklyn, NY. Tarji departed this life to be with the Lord on October 1, 2017. She was 56 years old. Tarji also known as "TJ" grew up in Queens, NY during the 1960's before relocating to East Brunswick, NJ in the early 1970's. She graduated from East Brunswick High School in 1979. Tarji attended Rutgers University and later became employed with the United States Postal Service in the early 1980's. Later, she married Bruce Simmons and they had two children together. She dedicated her life to being a home-maker and caring for her children. Tarji enjoyed reading, playing cards with friends and enjoy-ing quality time with her family, especially her grand-children. Tarji was pre-deceased by her father, William "Thomas" McQueen in 2007. Tarji leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Betty McQueen, her son, Jatir Simmons, daughter Bruchelle Simmons, Step-daughter, Eboni Barnes, grand-children, Amani, Deserae, Malia, Isaiah, and Giana along with her special Aunt Lily and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
