Obituary of Mary Lee Parker

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mary Lee Parker (also called “May” by family) was born Mary Lee Coney on March 10, 1940, in Sylvania,
Georgia to Wesley Coney and Zerlean Kent. She was the youngest of five children. Mary married General
Parker in 1955 and moved to New Jersey in 1959. Mary had many jobs but ultimately settled in the
home health industry; and retired as a Home Health Aide after decades of service in 2004.
Mary was loving, kind, open minded and well known for bringing the family together with her cooking.
She had an open door to her home when it came to helping family and friends when they needed a
fresh start in their life. Mary enjoyed fashion and home decorating, completing various puzzles, painting,
making jokes/laughing and her ministries with community service and the choir.
Mary left this life on August 18, 2019. She leaves to mourn: her sister, Lexie Morris; her children Norma
Coney, Jeffrey Parker (Rosalie, wife), Shawn Parker; her grandchildren Lisa Parks, Brandy Coney, Malia
Mitchell; her great grandchildren Paris Stewart, Qyaisha Peebles, Abram Parks, Aaron Parks; and a host
of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and
friend.
