Henry C. Davis Sr was born March 31, 1942, in Hampton County, South Carolina, to the late Mr. Nathaniel Davis and the late Mrs. Johnnie Lee Smith-Davis. At an Early age, Henry affectionally called Clarkie, attended North District Training School of Varnville, South Carolina then left to travel north to find work. He ended up relocating in Philadelphia, PA, where he met and married his first love Patricia (Daniels) Davis. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on June 1, 1960, in Philadelphia, PA. From this union, they created four children. After receiving his GED, Henry worked in Abington Hospital until he enlisted to serve his country as a member of the United States Army in 1964. Henry was stationed and served in Vietnam, Germany and in other various states. He also found time to attend Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, in 1979. Altogether Henry served 20 years in the US Service. When he retired, he went on to work as a Manager at Wendy’s in Toms River, NJ. Henry loved bowling, but most of all he loved sports. The NY Yankees was his baseball team, and he was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. Although he kept to himself a lot, he loved singing in the choir, being apart of the Ushers Board, apart of the Security Team, the Sunday School Board, and just loved being around his family, friends, and church family.
