Cleo Allison was born May 9, 1940, in Kingsburg, South Carolina to the late Grace (Ellison) Generette and Woodrow Generette Sr. He was the only child of that union. Cleo transitioned on April 9, 2020, at the Queens Center Hospital in Queens, New York. Cleo attended Gibbs High School in Pamplico, South Carolina. He later moved to Queens, New York. Cleo was a truck driver employed by a trucking company in Jersey City, New Jersey. He loved his family, played the guitar, and loved watching sports. Cleo was preceded in death by his grandparents Lucious and Hattie Ellison, who raised him as their own and a brother Woodrow Generette Jr. Surviving to cherish his memory are his children Valerie Fleming of Columbus, Ohio, Rodney Allen (Patti) Allen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, April Brown of Charlotte, North Carolina and ShaMek Harmony-Sherod Fayetteville, North Carolina who he had raised as his own. Siblings Mrs. Annette Generette-Van Hannegeyn and Dietra Frost of North Charleston, South Carolina. Ten grandchildren Mark Fleming, Diamond and Moriah Allen, Roger Cousins Jr., Adrianna McDowell, Josiah Stanley, Nyree’ Harmon, Olivia, Myra’ and Ava Sherod. Two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
