Luis Antonio Rosario was born June 21, 1939 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico tothe late Josefa Mass and the late Pedro Rosario. Luis moved to Manhattan,NY in 1947. He went through elementary & high school systems in NewYork. Luis Antonio Rosario was born June 21, 1939 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico to the late Josefa Mass and the late Pedro Rosario. He moved to Manhattan, NY in 1947. Luis went through elementary & high school systems in New York. In 1956 Luis met Jennie Malave. During October 1957 Luis & Jennie got married. They started a family and were married for 6 years. From this union two children were born: Peggy and Jagie Rosario. In 1963 Luis met Johnnie Mae Bradley. They were married in May 1969. From this union two children were born: Louis (Jr.) & Linda Rosario. They lived and created loving memories in East Orange, NJ. In 1975 they purchased a home in Rahway, NJ where they continued building loving memories. Luis later coupled up with his long time friend Mary Green. He shared the remainder of his life and showed his love for Mary while living with her in Rahway, NJ. Mary also became his caretaker as Luis took ill in 2016. Mary gave him the best care that she could possibly give him and Luis always Loved & appreciated her for that right up until his departure here on earth, April 3, 2020. Luis loved playing Handball and became the “Handball King” in New York & New Jersey. He was affectionately known to his family & friends as “Lefty”. He had a “wicked” left hand in playing Handball. Luis loved listening to Johnny Mathis & The Stylistics. He also loved to see them perform live at different concerts. In the 1960’s Luis was a member of a music group called The Untouchables. Doo Wop hits were some of his favorite music to listen to and sing to. Luis was well respected and loved by his family and friends. He had a passion for cars and repairing them and was very good with his hands which made him “the neighborhood auto mechanic.” Luis was a very good “Handy Man” around the house as well. He knew how to fix just about anything and kept busy by taking on many different projects at home. Luis also made house calls for his family and friends. Luis worked as a foreman/supervisor in the corrugated box field for 37 years. In 2006 at the age of 67 he retired from his supervisory position at A & J Trading in Linden, NJ. Luis will be sadly missed by all those who knew & loved him. He was a loving, caring and “happy-go-lucky” man who would help out anyone who he knew needed his help. Luis was preceded in death by his 6 brothers, Augustin “Chickie”, Pedro “Pete”, Charlie, Jimmy, Nestor and Hector; 2 sisters, Julia and Maria “Toto” Luis leaves to mourn his long time sweetheart, companion & caretaker Ms. Mary Green of Rahway, NJ; 4 children, Peggy of Miami, FL, Jagie (Bill) of Las Vegas, NV, Louie (Kathy) of Elizabeth, NJ and Linda of Edison, NJ; 2 grandchildren, Jahad Wilder of Atlanta, GA and Oliver Martinez of Brisbane, Australia; 3 Sisters, Josie (Jimmy) of Flushing, NY, Lydia of North Port, FL, Maria (Carlos, Sr.) of LaFayette, GA; 1 sister-in-law, Romanita Rosario of Alhambra, CA, 1 brother-in-law, Freddy Acosta of Sr. Cabo Rojo, PR and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
