OBITUARY To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV A TIME TO BE BORN: Nangelean Gunn Taylor, a daughter of the late Deacon Clyde M. Gunn and Deaconess Louise Gunn, was born July 18, 1937 in Pittsylvania County Virginia. A TIME TO PLANT: Nangelean professed hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Ringgold, VA. She was educated in the Pittsylvania Co. School system where she maintained honor roll status throughout her school years. Upon moving to New Jersey, she became a faithful member of Clear View Baptist Church in Newark. She was President of the Senior Missionaries for over 20 years. She was leader of the Acteens, a Sunday School teacher, and she took care of the food pantry. She also worked as the church sexton for a number of years and was an active member of Seniors on the Move. Her most recent and cherished role was serving as Church Mother. A TIME TO LOVE: On June 1, 1956 she was united in holy matrimony to the late Anderson Taylor Sr. This union was blessed with four children: Anderson Jr., Aaron Drew (deceased), Janna Louise, and Shawn Francis. A TIME TO DIE: On the evening of Saturday, June 13, 2020, the Lord saw fit to call Nangelean to peaceful rest in her heavenly home. Her pain and suffering will be no more. A TIME TO MOURN: Nangelean leaves to cherish her precious memory her beloved children: Anderson Jr. (Shirley), Janna, Shawn (Michele), Stepson Leon Terry (Linda), and Spiritual daughter Denise Hutchins (Oscar); Grandchildren: Shanel, Shana, Shalis, Shawn Marquis, Jessica, Niara, Eddie, Aaron, Dante, Tyrese, and Lamir (JoJo); Great grandchildren: Nahshon, Cherish, Jaxon, Jayce, Reese, Revan, Leilani, Hailey, Kaycee, and Gabriel; Sisters: JoAnn Johnson (Sam) and Bertha Hargrove of NJ; Brothers: Michael Gunn of Washington, DC and Clyde Gunn of NY; Sisters in Law: Sally Brooks, Maybelline Williams, Nannie Blackwood (Alfred) - all of Oxford, NC, and Mary Carroll (Ray) of Newark, NJ; Brother in Law: Walter Perry (Marjorie) of Oxford, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her son Aaron Drew, sister Gay Frances Lucas, and brothers James and Louis Gunn. As we bid benediction upon the life of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend, we thank God for a good soldier who held faithfully until the end. She will be remembered best for her humbleness, encouragement to others, and wisdom, along with the many great memories shared with family and friends. Lovingly submitted, The Family
