Obituary of Oliver Edmund Cook Sr.

Oliver Edmund Cook Sr. of South Harrison Twp, NJ was called home on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 85.  Oliver was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on November 5^th 1935 to the late Oliver Cook and Ethel Cook (Rogers). As one of seven, he attended public school in Perth Amboy, NJ, where he was raised. 

Oliver spent the majority of his working career as a Trained Diesel Mechanic and Driver.  Chevron, Sunoco and Erdners are just some of the companies who benefitted from Oliver’s diesel expertise and long hours spent on the road.  Oliver truly believed in the value of hard work and was very meticulous about all things, including the home he built in South Harrison.  He was very proud and enjoyed having family stay there during the summers, over long weekends and when in need.  Some of his fondest memories were of hosting family barbeques, gathering to play cards, and attending family reunions throughout the years. Most everyone knows he spent much time on his hobby, working on anything with grease and an engine. From tractors, to lawn mowers, dirt bikes, to cars…… lots and lots of cars, he usually found a way to give them new life. Or he would save it to fix the next project.

Oliver is predeceased by Parents: Oliver and Ethel Cook, Sisters: Emma Cook, Vina Mae Cook, Grace Storey, Brother Leon Cook and Grandson Daniel Roland Cook Jr.

Oliver is survived by Sons: Timothy Beverly (Cheryl), Oliver Edward Cook Jr. (Josephine), Daniel Roland Cook Sr. (Lisa), Daughter Yolanda Endres (Kevin), Sisters: Rosa Lester, Gertrude Hargrove, Ten Grandchildren: Suzanne (Jim), Jay (Kim), Markese (Adrienne), Chaz, Daniel, CeeCee, Jazmen (Aiden), Ashly, Alyssa, Christopher, Michael and Eight Great Grandchildren:  along with a host of Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
