Obituary of Marietta Thompson

Mrs. Marietta Thompson was born on February 6, 1958 to the late Dora Dunlap in Wando South Carolina. On May 5, 2021 Marietta transitioned from her earthly body and entered into her heavenly home along side her mother and her grandmother Elizabeth Smith whom she adored.

Marietta was educated in the Cainho South Carolina school system. While growing up in South Carolina Marietta lovingly known as “Retta”, was very active and inquisitive learning how to cook at an very early age.  Retta was very outspoken and would give you her input whether you wanted it or not. Her heart would fold at knowing someone was without and would feed anyone in need. Under her sometime tough exterior, she was loveable and made friends wherever she would go. Retta was well traveled and was always out and about shopping. Retta, with her signature red hair was with no doubt LOVED by all she knew.

Marietta leaves to cherish her children Anthony, Floyd, Michael, Keyanah, Charles (Geneequa), Eric (Yolanda). Her grandchildren with whom she loved unequivocally Aziz, Erika, Derricka, Ahriyana, and Prince. Siblings Corrine Perrineau, Abraham Johnson, Barbara Mcneeley, Linda Scott, Darlene White, Tyrone Johnson (Jeanette), Sheryl Baxter, and John Dunlap (Sabrina).  Aunt Florine Thompson, Cousin Jackie Johnson, God sisters Martha Cromedy, Debra Jenkins, Yvonne Smalls, and Latasha Simmons. God Brother Jerome Smalls, God Children Jamil Phelps, Desiree Chester and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Retta was preceded in death by her Mother Dora, her Grandmother Elizabeth and her beloved grandson Dacraig Johnson.

Retta our hearts are heavy, and we absolutely Love you, but you left us with plenty of memories that we will cherish forever.  Lovingly submitted your family!!
