Obituary of Clifford Barnes

Clifford Barnes was born August 25, 1960, in Newark, New Jersey. In 1969, he moved with his parents, Sidney and Hilda Harrell and other siblings, to Somerset, New Jersey, also known as Franklin Township, where he attended Franklin Township schools from elementary to high school.

After high school, he enlisted in the army, served time there, and received an honorable discharge. After serving in the army, he worked in housekeeping for Middlesex County for approximately seven years. While working in housekeeping, he met the love of his life, Doris Morgan, who was a Transport Driver for disabled and senior citizens in Middlesex County.

After a short courtship, Clifford and Doris were married on August 24, 2000. He took on a new role as father to Doris’s children. They were a fun-loving couple and family for 20 years until Doris’s untimely passing on July 4, 2020. Clifford was never the same after Doris’s passing, and with the grace of God, he continued with his life until his untimely passing on May 31, 2021. It has been said that one can die of a broken heart, which might have been the case for Clifford.

In addition to his loving wife Doris, Clifford was predeceased by his parents Sidney and Hilda Harrell, and nephew Ronald Brown.

Harrell Wilson (Clifton), East Windsor, NJ; sister, Denise Garnett, Virginia; children, Derrick Morgan, North Brunswick, NJ; Keisha Morgan, East Orange, NJ; Lashawnda Morgan, Bound Brook, NJ; Kimberly Jones (Antwan), Franklin Park, NJ; Bruce Washington, Woodbridge, NJ; Kizzy Travis (Michael), Woodbridge, NJ; Shante Steward (Michael), Woodbridge, NJ; nieces, Antoinette Johnson (Maury), North Brunswick, NJ; Sharise Gladden (Michael), Palm Bay, FL; Ronisha Brown, Virginia; Tanisha Brown, Virginia; cousins, Dr. Sheila Curry Bryan, Ringoes, NJ; Rev.
