Obituary of Natalie Christine Wilson
Natalie Wallace-Wilson, affectionately known as Nat, was born to the Union of Mary Ann
Wallace-Kornegay (nee Butler) and Leroy Wallace in Newark, New Jersey on December
18, 1965. Natalie graduated from Hillside High School in Hillside, New Jersey in 1984.
Natalie enjoyed a long career in the music industry, performing in various capacities for
many years. In 1988, she graced the stage of the Apollo Theater in New York and
participated in several talent shows at the Peppermint Lounge in NJ. She won first place at
the Credit Doctors Talent Showcase and was twice a runner-up. She recorded music with
Mick-Eng Productions in Paterson, NJ, and Smack Productions in Passaic, NJ. Natalie was
best known for singing at the Eleganza Club and was a member of the girls' group Thick.
The pinnacle of Natalie’s musical career was recording her hit song, "U Gave Me Love," with
Master H, which charted in Paris.
Following her musical career, Natalie worked as a security guard for the Newark, NJ Board
of Education. In 2001, she left this position to attend the Corrections Academy, graduating
in June 2001. She then began working at Northern State Prison, later transferring to East
Jersey State Prison in May 2002.
In 2003, Natalie purchased her home in East Orange, NJ.
Natalie was blessed with two children, Tatyana and Khairi Wallace-Wilson, born in 1996 and
2006, respectively. She loved to spend time and travel with her children, whom she
affectionately referred to as her Flowers.
Natalie was united in marriage on December 19, 2008, and her marriage was dissolved in
2024.
Natalie leaves to carry on her legacy, her children, Tatyana Wallace-Wilson and Khairi
Wallace-Wilson, and was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ann and Leroy. She is also
survived by her sister Caren Fisher (Kim) of East Orange, NJ, her sister Carol Ann Wallace,
and her brother Gregory L. Wallace, both of Newark, NJ. Natalie was preceded in death by
her brother Leroy (Rory) Wallace and Monica (Nina) Wallace-Shears.
Natalie leaves fond memories with her nieces and nephews: Ah-med, Aliah, Abdul
Rahc’mon (Kyah), Ali Rasul, Amirah, Kim Jr., Korey, Camri, TiKing (Diana), Nina, Crystal
(Benjamin), Salimah, and Ny’Asia (Jacob), as well as twenty-five great-nieces and nephews,
one great-great-nephew, baby Braxton, one bonus daughter, Taheerah, her best friend,
Shawanda (Bae Bae), and a host of cousins and friends.
