Obituary of Martha Wynn Cherry

Martha Wynn Cherry was born in Colerain, Bertie County, North Carolina on June 6, 1935. She grew up in Powellsville, North Carolina and graduated from CG White High School. Martha went on to earn two Asssociate Degrees, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and was working on her Masters Degree in Nursing Administration.

She worked for over 20 years as a Registered Nurse at Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. She retired in 1998.  Martha enjoyed many interests and hobbies. She loved traveling cooking, gardening, sports and photography. Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children:  Ricky A. Cherry Sr.(Sharon) of Albany,NY,Sheila F. Cherry of Winterhaven, FL, Ronald D. Cherry of Troy, NYand Cheryl L. Cherry of Ossining,NY. Eleven beloved grandchildren, Natima S Reid, Ricky T Cherry, Ronald J Cherry, Chad D Cherry, Eric Cherry, Erica Cherry, Kadeejai CherryYCherry, Andre A. Swann, Cameron Cherry, Ashley N. Cherry and Malik Weldon and 28 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law Brenda Cherry, a brother-in-law Sherman Cherry, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents General Washington Wynn and Martha Perry Wynn, her beloved husband Foy D Cherry Sr. and her oldest son Foyd D. Cherry Jr. Her beloved sisters Mary Frances Bass, Elrits Moore, Phyllis Hyman, Ira Green. And brothers Cyrus Wynn and Paul Wynn.
