Donald where do I even begin...you were the type of person to always put yourself before others and always reached out to make sure I was good. I will always remember all the fun times we had together and will miss our calls reminiscing about all the times we hung out. We only just talked last week and it was you reaching out to make sure me and Brody were ok.The last thing you said to me was that I was a great mother. I will never forget that. You made an impact on everyone you came into contact with. Q: What will you never forget about Lt. Donald?
A: 8 years ago I was invited into the DeMattia family. Lina and her 4 sisters along with their mother, Esterina, accepted me as one of their own. Tara and her husband Don were so kind to invite me for Christmas. Don was always very kind and pleasant, gregarious, and a joy to be around. Just a down to Earth person in every way. I can only imagine the pain and heartbreak for Tara and their children. May Don rest in peace for all eternity in the House Of The Lord. He may be gone but his kindness will never be forgotten.

Lt. Ship had a smile and personality that lit up the entire room. He cared deeply about his community and the people he served. He had such a big heart…so big that he saw me sitting in police headquarters waiting on my grandson while my great grandson slept in his set. He walked over and started a conversation and asked if I had any granddaughters. When ifeurx Yeager said wait here. A few minutes later he came out of his office with an American Girl doll. It was almost as if he knew my daughter was a struggling single mom trying to support her children on her own. It was Valentines Day 2023 and his actions not only touched my heart but totally made my granddaughters day. Here it was a day we should have been celebrating him on his promotion and he’s thinking about others as he often did. Thank you, Lieutenant Ship For your generous, active kindness straight from the heart.
