Obituary of Yorel Novad Armstrong

Yorel Novad Sakeem Goodridge Armstrong was born October 31, 1993at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey to Leroy Solomon Armstrong, Jr. and Suzanne Goodridge Armstrong. In his youth, Yorel attended GrandView Elementary School, Arbor Intermediate School, and Theodore Schor Middle School. He graduated from Piscataway High School in June, 2012 and continued his education at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in May, 2016.Yorel was currently pursuing his Master’s Degreein Business and Science at Rutgers Business School

In high school, Yorel was inducted into the National Honor Society. During his college years, Yorel was a member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE: M.E.E.T – Minority Engineering Educational Task), West Indian Student Organization (W.I.S.O.), Paul Robeson Cultural Center and the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP).

Yorel’s work experience consisted of Relli’s Deli in Piscataway, Rutgers work study program as Senior Buiding Manager, Rutgers IT Department in New Brunswick as IT Support Technician, ZS Associates as a Technical Support Associate and most recently, Rutgers Newark IT Department as System Administrator.

Yorel was a minimalist like his sister Yazmin. He loved the Golden State Warriors, listening to music and attending concerts, going to Central Park, working out, hiking and riding his bike over the George Washington Bridge. He was very inquisitive, organized and loved eating Nonnie’s cooking, snow crab legs, Roti oxtails and Wing Stop amongst many other dishes.

YorelNovad Sakeem Goodridge Armstrong passed into eternity January 14, 2021. He leaves to carry on his memory: (Parents) Leroy Solomon Armstrong, Jr. and Suzanne Goodridge Armstrong; (Siblings) Yazmin Novasha Frances Armstrong, Brie Noelle Armstrong Smith, Lamoni Mone’t Armstrong (niece: Leilani), Madison Taylor Armstrong-Bush and LeRoy Solomon Armstrong, III; (Grandparents) MaryAnn Armstrong and Leroy Armstrong (preceded in death), Mary Glendora Goodridge (preceded in death) and Francis Goodridge; (Aunts & Uncles) Gregory Armstrong and Love Armstrong (preceded in death), Sabrina Armstrong, Toni Armstrong, Travis Armstrong, Patience Montgomery, Jianna Diggs, Khoy Blasi Diggs, Simone Goodridge, Sophia Goodridge and Sekou Stanley; (Cousins) Chancie, Mariann, Gabrielle, Victoria (Tori), Ann-Marie, Sommer, Victoria, Jose Jr., Clarice, Katlynn, Gregory, Takara, Khoy Jr., Zawan, Davon, Bianca and Dale and a host of other relatives and close friends.
