Obituary of Merida Barlow, Jr.

Marida Barlow Jr. was born on January 22, 1950, in New Brunswick, NJ. Affectionately known as

“Junior”, he was the fourth child born to the late Merida Barlow Sr. and Wilma Davis Barlow.

 

As a young child, Merida enjoyed playing baseball and music. Merida attended Piscataway public

schools. He graduated from Piscataway High School in 1969, then attended the Computer Education

Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Merida completed his studies in Philadelphia and began his

career as an IT Technician with AT&T (formerly Bell Telephone).

 

Merida resided in Plainfield with his former wife Judy (Brown) Barlow; later moving back to Piscataway.

He enjoyed playing his guitar, competing in marathons, spending time with family and friends, and being

the “life of the party”.

 

Predeceased by his parents, sister Carrie and brother-in-law Richard. Merida is survived by sisters,

Barbara Staton; Margie Coleman (James); Gail Richardson (Tharnell); Nieces, Kelly Shields (Anthony);

Millie Coleman; Nephew Charles Barlow Richardson; Great Nephews, Anthony (Obie) and Ethan Shields;

Very Special Aunt Catherine (Cappi) Stewart. A host of cousins, friends, and extended family.
