Obituary of Alton Earl Rogers

Alton Earl Rogers was brought into this world on August 27, 1946 in Bethel, NC. He was one of twelve kids, born to the late Thadd Rogers and Mattie (Andrews) Rogers. On March 28, 2023 God called Alton home.

The beginning of Alton and Mary's relationship was introduced by Alton's uncle Chester Jr, in Stokes, NC which later developed into their story. They were so young and vibrant, because of the love that sprung from the two, they took it to the next level and had gotten married in July of 1966. Both husband and wife decided that migrating to New Jersey and starting a new life and family was what they needed.

Alton and Mary have four beautiful children, Alton Rogers Jr, Sheldon Rogers (Sherry Rogers), Wanda Archibald (Bruno Archibald), and Tammy Rogers, who he loved so much and showed great support and care to as an astounding father. Alton was truly an amazing gift from God, he leaves behind his 13 grandchildren John Archibald, Jasmine rogers, Quasuan Rogers, Fuquan Rogers Jr, Sherman Rogers, Tymira Rogers, Diamond Rogers, Dequan Rogers, Tyra Rogers, Randella Rogers, Brianca Gillespie, Anyah Holloway and India Archibald. Along with 6 great grandchildren Dashon Rogers Jr, Andre Robinson Jr, Ja'nyla Gillespie, Autumn Rogers, Khaatim 'peanut' Rogers and Royalty Bates.

Alton appreciated the moments he spent with one of his oldest brothers Johnny Barnes, whether it was driving around the town, talking on the phone reminiscing on past events, or grabbing food, it was all worth the while. They showed so much interest in each other’s time, it was pure brotherly love.

Alton was preceded in death by both parents Mattie Rogers and Thadd Rogers, several beautiful siblings, Brenda Rogers(daughter), and Dashon Rogers(grandchild). His presence will be deeply missed.
