To the Family. Rev. Lester and I served as Associate Ministers at the New Hope Baptist Church in Metuchen. His assignment was the youth of the church and he put his heart and soul into this ministry. We would bump heads at times, and it came to be like big sister little brother. Over the years, we both left New Hope to pastor our own churches. He became the Pastor of The Somerset Baptist Church in Franklin Township and I was a mile away at the Somerset Presbyterian Church also in Franklin Township. We would exchange orthopedic surgeries and how medical technology changed for the better over time. Our last telephone conversation he referred to me as "Sis". Tom and I will miss him, and I am truly missing my little brother. Blessings to the family and thank you for allowing us to share a part of him in our life. The Reverends Sharon and Tom Culley

My children (Todd, Brandon, Morgan (& Devyn) Tarver) have the fondest memories of Reverend Lester. He was someone they respected and looked up to. Over the years, they have said how grateful they are to have had him in their lives. When we traveled home to NJ in 2019, we wanted to attend church before returning to Missouri. My children wanted to hear a sermon delivered by Reverend Lester and wanted to attend his church, and so we did. It had been 12 years since they had seen him, but it warmed their hearts that he recognized them. Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope.
