Obituary of Milton Mc Pherson

Milton George Osenseo McPherson was born to Keith and Hazel McPherson on April 26, 1948, in Spring Gardens, the Parish of Saint Thomas, Jamaica, West Indies. In February 1958, he emigrated from Jamaica to Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York, to join his parents. 

Milton attended Saint John the Baptist Catholic School and Church, where he served as an altar boy for several years. He then attended Bishop Loughlin Memorial and Washington Irving High School.

Milton joined the United States Air Force, where he was trained as a Communications Specialist. While in the Air Force, he was stationed in Texas, Massachusetts, and New York. He was honorably discharged in June 1966.  

Milton met his first wife, Synthia, in junior high school. They eventually dated and were married in 1967. Their union produced four sons: William, Gregory, Darrell, and Milton Troy. 

In his early life, Milton was a leader in sales. He held various management positions at Billy the Kid and The Tandy Corporation. As he advanced in management, he became passionate about training, teaching, and instilling positive work ethics in his team members. He was instrumental in providing leadership opportunities to many. Milton segued into the technology industry during the 1980s. He was employed in the Information Technology divisions of Credit Suisse and Johnson & Johnson, where he retired.

In 1989, Milton married his second wife, Kim. Their union produced a daughter, Courtney.

Milton was known for his loving and giving nature. He was personable, engaging, and highly passionate about current politics. He was also profoundly inquisitive and always wanted to get to the heart of everything and everyone.

Milton is preceded in death by his father, Keith; his mother, Hazel; and his son, Gregory. 

Milton leaves to cherish his memory: his sister, Dorrett, his first wife, Synthia, and his second wife, Kim. He leaves behind three sons, William, Darrell (Cindy) and Milton Troy (Olgarina), and his daughter, Courtney; grandchildren, Dezire, Jordan, Imani, Xavier, Samuel, Felicia, Amanda, Alec, Nina, Myles, Donte, Leia, and Andre; great-grandchildren, Iraj, Simone, Dasia, and Emmitt; a host of nephews and nieces, Lawerence (Vivian), Leena, Leyton, and Lawson, Leonard (Grace), Andre, Elvin (Lakelya), Shabaka, Letitia (Eric), Brian, Marques, Mitchell, Kendra, Asia, Alyssa, Sonia, Monique, Christopher, Marques Jr., Erin; sister-in-law, Mildred, brother-in-law, Vaughn, and many cousins.
